Fair Oaks / Live Oaks / Golf / Hole

Par 5

Pro’s Tip:
The opening hole is a par 5 that requires players to hit an accurate tee shot between three fairway bunkers. A decision awaits on the second shot; go for the well-guarded green in two or lay-up to a wedge distance.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
The back nine opens with a relatively short par 4 with a narrow landing area off the tee. A bunker guards the right and a cluster of trees on the left. Approach shots are typically fairly short into a green that has gradual slope from back-to-front and is guarded by two bunkers.

Par 3

Pro’s Tip:
The eleventh is the shortest par 3 on the golf course. A large, deep bunker on the left guards a green that slopes back-to-front.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
This downhill dogleg right par 4 features a fairway bunker on the right side. A safe play off the tee is down the left, where it’ll leave players about 125 yards in to a green that slopes back-to-front. Two bunkers guard the green that can feature a variety of hole locations.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
The thirteenth is the most picturesque hole at Fair Oaks Ranch. It’s a par 4 that requires a lay-up off the tee to a wide fairway. Approach shots will be in the 100 yard range over a pond to a shallow green.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
This medium-length par 4 doglegs 90 degrees to the right. A tee shot left of the fairway bunkers on the right will leave an approach of around 150 yards. From there, players will face a slightly uphill second to a green surrounded by bunkers and heavy rough.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
Three accurate shots are required on this par 5 to have a chance at birdie. The tee shot should be placed left of the fairway bunker to leave the best angle into the green. On the second shot, the landing area slopes severely from left-to-right, so players must be sure to take it up the left. If successful, players will be left with an approach of around 100 yards to an undulated green with two bunkers protecting it.

Par 3

Pro’s Tip:
The sixteenth is a beautiful mid-length par 3 over a tranquil pond. The green is guarded by a deep bunker in front and a collection area in back. This hole has some of the most challenging hole locations on the golf course.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
The final par 4 is a long downhill dogleg left. A well-placed tee shot will leave players a mid-iron into a large narrow green that’s protected by two bunkers and a large slope in the middle.

Par 5

Pro’s Tip:
The finishing hole is a reachable par 5 that requires accuracy. A well-placed tee shot will leave players a decision on the second. The green is surrounded by three bunkers and some of the heaviest rough on the property, so players who go for the green in two must by precise. The putting surface is fairly flat and receptive, but because of its size, three putts are common.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
A well-placed tee shot on this dogleg left par 4 will leave about 150 yads into a green that’s guarded by a pond on the left. The putting surface has a large slope on the right and is surrounded by collection areas.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
The fourth is a long, dogleg right par 4. Even a long, accurate tee shot will leave players over 170 yards in to a shallow, yet undulated, green that’s guarded by two bunkers.

Par 4

Pro’s Tip:
Considered by many to be the toughest hole on the course, the par 4 sixth is long and straight. Even though the fairway is wide, trees can block out the second if the drive isn’t perfectly placed. Then, a 170+ yard approach shot over a creek to a green surrounded by bunkers awaits players.

Par 5

Pro’s Tip:
The eighth is an incredibly unique par 5, as it crosses two ravines on its way to the green. The safe play off the tee is to take a fairway wood or long-iron to the fairway guarded by trees on the left. An aggressive play would be to hit the tee shot over the trees on the left with driver and leave about 170 yards in to the green that’s guarded by three bunkers and divided in half by a large slope.

Par 4
